About us

Darzuno originated from the work of one designer who started to capture ideas on scraps of paper, café napkins, notes in the margins of work notebooks, etc. These quick sketches, notes on compositions, color variations and problem solving to-do's emerged and piled up over the years. The outline soon blossomed into a system every note had form to it, an example and an explanation. Nowadays, these materials are one of the foundations of course study there is no abstract theoretical lessons here, just techniques that have stood the test of time on real projects and clients. We still think the same way. From doodled sketch to digital layout, we don't put unnecessary steps in our archival process. Everything to do with each course has been work flow tested before entering the design archive.

We produce materials that function autonomously: elaborated charts, accessible models, a self-monitoring checklist, and examples with comments. Each course suggests an ordered route with opportunities for the learner to create a practice right after an idea, with no need for further search for materials. There are no general statements; we focus on specific activities. You can expect anything from designing a grid to the last adaptation for print or on screen. All of our updates are quarterly: fresh cases are added, edits based on feedback, and examples taken out and new are inserted. Everything is compiled in one archive that downloads once, with the intention of working offline. There are no platforms and no communities or times to contingently attend. It is just you and the materials, with the occasional email for questions.

Darzuno today is not a brand but a working task for designers who want to systematize their skills. The processes we share we use ourselves from the very first sketch and all the way to a project you can show in your own portfolio. Each course is intentionally built so that you can move through the course at a pace that works for you and return to the modules as needed. The communication will be strictly limited to email communication you write us a direct question and we write you back a breakdown with examples. We are not selling magic formulas or quick paths, just a structure to making visuals that is clear. Darzuno is about practice, repeatability and growth through your own projects.
